Carusone & Cherres Architects, LLC is a small, diversified, design oriented architectural firm, originally established by John Carusone in 1985 and later partnered with Jorge Cherres in 2013, serving the community in the heart of Astoria & Long Island City.
The office has participated with the Queens Chamber of Commerce’s yearly Building Design Awards since 1993 and has won one or more awards in different design categories such as Residential, Commercial, Mixed Use, Industrial and Alterations.

John Carusone was a Registered Architect in New York State, serving the Long Island City and Astoria communities for over forty years. He owned and operated John Carusone Architect PC, opened in 1985, and later partnered with Jorge Cherres in 2014, establishing Carusone & Cherres Architects, LLC. His office continues to be operated by Jorge Cherres and Gianmarco Carusone, his son.
John received a diploma from the High School of Art & Design, an Associate Degree in Applied Arts and Sciences at the New York City College of Technology, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute. He also participated in the Foreign Study Program in Rome, Italy. He has been a Registered Architect in New York State since 1975, holding a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (N.C.A.R.B.).
His community involvement and professional expertise was reflected in his contributions as President of the Queens Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Board of Directors of the New York Society of Architects, and Chairman of the Professional Design Center of New York. He also dedicated his time to serving as Chairman of Community Board #1 and as a professor at Queens Borough Community College.

Jorge Cherres is a registered professional architect and an active member of the American Institute of Architects with over 12 years of experience, specializing in a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

Gianmarco Carusone, son of John Carusone, graduated from New York Institute of Technology in 2017 with a Bachelor's of Architecture.
